Responsible for assisting more experienced welders with the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. A significant portion of this role is to learn the trade from more experienced coworkers.

Job Description:
We are looking for an Entry-Level Repair Technician to provide support to by performing basic repairs. You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.
Shift: Third Shift 10:00-6:30am Monday-Friday
Wage: $25.50/hr + $3.00/hr shift differential
Job Requirements:
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.
  • Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.
  • The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
  • Able to pass drug screen, physical.
