Job Summary: Performs basic mechanical or electrical repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer's manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. Using a forklift, maintains the trash hoppers inside and outside of the facility.
This position embodies and champions the core values, standards, and guiding philosophies of Nautique Boat Company, ensuring their consistent application across all duties and organizational initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs entry level break-fix mechanical and electrical maintenance as well as preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and improve operations; repairing or replacing defective parts; repairing machine tools.
  • Assists with troubleshooting, repairs, and provides support and back up for other members of the department as needed by leadership.
  • Assures compliance with 5S, housekeeping, and safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines and keeps the work area clean and orderly
  • Completes on the job training for career development.
  • Updates records in the web-based maintenance request form Smartsheet system.
  • Provides inputs on continuous improvement activities - processes, results and cost savings.
  • Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Drive a forklift daily as required for trash removal and other tasks.
  • Communicate with rubbish removal vendors when open top dumpsters are ready to be emptied, and recyclable vendors when recyclables are ready to be picked up.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities for success in this position:
  • Intermediate Employment Skills: Requires working knowledge of basic procedures and the ability to complete structured tasks involving information, records, and routine processes.
  • Requires job-related knowledge of break-fix and preventative maintenance practices, including identifying parts, supplies, and repair items. Requires knowledge of basic maintenance hand tools and equipment, as well as electrical, mechanical, fluid power, control systems, and processes and equipment used to analyze problems and perform repairs.
  • Valid driver's license with safe driving record subject to MVR
  • Earns & maintains forklift drivers license and crane operation certification through yearly training

Requirements
Knowledge, Education and Experience Required:
  • 1 year to
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have and maintain a current driver's license.
  • Must be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)

Physical and Work Requirements:
  • Non-climate-controlled work environment with exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, chemicals, and odors
  • Standing, walking, sitting, and stooping throughout the workday
  • Moderate lifting or carrying 26-50 lbs
  • Climbing ladders or scaffolds and operating equipment as needed
  • Requires proper safety equipment as required by company policy
