Job Purpose

Drive growth within the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and production boat builder segment across North America.  Will expand AkzoNobel's presence within the production boat market by developing new business opportunities with aluminum and fiberglass boat manufacturers while strengthening relationships with existing customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the North American original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and production boat builder market, with emphasis on aluminum and fiberglass manufacturers.  Will expand market presence and increase revenue growth across North America.
  • Drive specification selling activities to position AkzoNobel products and coating systems as preferred solutions for production boat applications.
  • Partner with Sales Management to deliver sales, profitability, market share, and growth targets aligned with North American business objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional marketing teams to analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and emerging opportunities within the North American marine market.
  • Support development of commercial and technical marketing materials that effectively position AkzoNobel's products and value proposition within the production boat building industry.
  • Maintain and report on business development activity, sales pipeline progression, customer opportunities, and market intelligence. 
  • Gather and communicate customer and market feedback related to product performance, application processes, competitive positioning, and evolving industry requirements.
  • Support pricing strategy execution and participate in commercial negotiations to drive profitable growth.
  • Contribute accurate forecasting, sales planning, and demand information to support regional business planning processes.
  • Work collaboratively with technical service and operations teams to ensure successful product implementation and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards applicable to the role and customer environments.
  • Independently prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Business Management, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in commercial roles, sales and key account management in paints and coatings, business-to-business, or marine industry.
  • 2 years' experience in the production build and original equipment manfuacturer industry with knowledge of product lifecycle from concept to market.
  • Must possess understanding of cross functional processes and financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve.
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.  .
  • Strong customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, create value propositions, and drive results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.  Overnight travel may be required.
Territory
Midwest Region to include Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin.  Additional states may be added.
Base Location

This position may be based in Illinois, Indiana, or Michigan.

Rewards and Benefits

The salary range for these skills is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 based upon experience.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future. 

This position is also eligible for a monthly vehicle allowance, mileage reimbursement, and an annual bonus target of 35%, based on individual and company performance.
