We're looking for a motivated and dynamic Store Assistant Manager to help lead our team and support the daily operations of the store. In this role, you'll assist the Store Manager in driving sales, coaching and supporting team members, ensuring operational excellence, and creating an outstanding customer experience. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support daily store operations by scheduling, assigning, and following up on employee tasks. Recruit, select, orient, and train team members to maintain a strong and capable staff.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees, providing feedback and guidance to help them reach their full potential. Address performance issues as needed.
  • Assist in achieving financial objectives by preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Build strong customer relationships by understanding their needs, providing exceptional service, and ensuring a welcoming store environment.
  • Drive sales and marketing initiatives by analyzing promotions, display plans, and operating/financial reports to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure the store is safe, clean, and compliant with all company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs to protect company assets.

You are best suited for this role if you have the following qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of management experience in a specialty retail environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and building high-performing teams.
  • Customer service-oriented, with in-depth knowledge of retail operations and business management processes.
  • Expertise in shrink reduction, expense control, merchandising strategies, brand differentiation, and partnership development.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for board games, puzzles, and pop culture, with a drive to achieve sales goals.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring employees.
