This position is based in Greer, South Carolina, supporting BMW's transportation network. Our team plays a critical role in coordinating daily inbound and outbound freight movements, managing driver activity, supporting material flow, and ensuring seamless communication between BMW, drivers, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily routes, assign drivers, and monitor freight movement to ensure on-time service and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, BMW representatives, and internal operational teams.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments, provide real-time updates, and proactively communicate service disruptions.
  • Manage driver schedules and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and ensure customer KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Investigate and resolve transportation issues, including delays, breakdowns, and service exceptions.
  • Maintain accurate records, manifests, logs, and transportation documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
  • Coach and support drivers while addressing performance, attendance, and operational concerns when necessary.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to maintain smooth material flow and service execution.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Support daily operational planning and contribute to the overall success of BMW's transportation network.

Qualifications
  • 0-3+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Prior dispatch, transportation coordination, or fleet management experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to coach, support, and influence others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems (TMS) is preferred.
  • Experience working with KPIs, operational metrics, and performance reporting is a plus.
