Company Introduction

Tri-State Energy (TSE) is a 40-year is a client-focused energy solutions provider committed to delivering engineering-driven strategies that improve facility performance, reduce operational and maintenance costs, and provide long term reliable solutions by seamlessly combining technical engineering with project implementation. We focus on providing energy engineering and MEP contracting support for decarbonization initiatives. We are growing and looking to hire dedicated, industry-qualified candidates at all experience levels to grow with our company.


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing and Communications Specialist in our Woodbridge, N.J. facility to facilitate the marketing efforts for our utility programs and the company overall. The ideal candidate will assist the Marketing Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing plan to enhance brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and support revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of aligning execution with business objectives, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with our clients, our executive team, sales department, and operational teams.


Essential Job Functions

  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities by sharing and tracking current market trends and research and using data-driven insights to optimize strategies. Prepares status reports for stakeholders.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders to enhance marketing impact and drive program success. Create overall blueprint and facilitate the execution of client projects.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with sales, operations, and executive teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with business goals.
  • RFP Oversight: Assist and provide timely delivery of responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring accuracy and adherence to client specifications.
  • Social media & Digital Presence: Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns that engage and grow our internal and external audience base. Create consistent themes, messaging and branding in all communication touchpoints
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Help develop and implement marketing strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring measurable growth in brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue.
  • Brand Development & Messaging: Assist with TSE brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency across all channels including digital, print, and social media platforms. Work closely with internal teams to craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Budget Management: Partner with Marketing Manager to provide regular budget forecasts.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing.
  • Experience with RFPs, brand management, social media, digital marketing, and content marketing preferred.
  • Awareness of market trends, lighting, construction, and contracting best practices.
  • Experience with energy, sustainability, engineering, construction, and utility programs is a bonus.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, active listening, and presentation, editing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment with multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Must reside in New Jersey. No relocation reimbursement or expense is offered for this role.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of marketing in an engineering, contracting, or professional services firm is a plus.
  • Required knowledge of marketing processes and tools.
  • Being open to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver results within set timelines.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service capability focusing on proactively identifying customer needs and managing customer expectations.
  • Self-starter who can work within a team environment to drive results.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing processes and tools relevant to engineering, construction, or professional services firms is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, customer needs, and industry-specific best practices (e.g., lighting, construction, sustainability).

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in office
  • Occasional weekends.
  • On-call requirement.
  • Some travel required, as needed.
