Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full time High School Substitute Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year.
Scheck Hillel is a nationally recognized college preparatory and Jewish community school located in North Miami Beach, Florida. Our well-rounded, rigorous, dual curriculum program serves over 1,300 students in PKT through 12th grade. As a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, we attract and retain a diverse faculty who demonstrate professional excellence with an unwavering commitment to delivering an education of unsurpassed quality, As a community school, we understand that our school isn't just about education, it's about the whole child. 
The Substitute Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of our school by effectively managing substitute teacher coverage.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary substitute when a teacher is absent and needs coverage
  • Schedule substitute coverage on an on-call basis to address immediate classroom needs.  
  • Identify teacher availability for coverage and communicate effectively with those who are asked to fill in.  
  • Ensure that comprehensive lesson plans are in place for substitute teachers to facilitate a seamless transition for students.  
  • Enter and maintain all upper school teacher class absenteeism coverage information using Google applications.  
  • Collaborate closely with the Human Resources department to ensure accurate tracking of missed classes and related data.  
  • Provide coverage for classes as needed to support teachers and students.  
  • Execute any other related duties as assigned, ensuring adaptability in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the K-12 education field, specifically regarding substitute teacher coverage requirements.  
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.  
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and respond to inquiries in person and in small group settings with teachers and staff.  
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address practical scheduling challenges.  
  • Detail-oriented approach with a strong emphasis on planning coverage and accurately reporting absences and payments.
