Position Summary:

            Operates tubing end finishers, band saws, overhead crane, forklifts and side loaders. Assists with the installation of tooling on the Tube Mills.

Essential functions:

 

  • Observes operation and verifies dimensions of finished products.
  • Routinely inspects and removes finished pieces from machine bed.
  • Makes all necessary quality checks and records those checks as required.
  • Performs routine and nonroutine maintenance on the mill and related equipment as directed by the Team Lead.
  • Operates all material handling equipment (forklifts, bridge cranes, and hand trucks)
  • Performs accurate quantity counts on all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information with paint stick or stencils with spray paint.
  • Unloads all material being received from semi-truck trailers using large forklifts and moves material to designated warehouse location.
  • Stores all incoming material into the warehouse ensuring that all tags, paperwork and data is complete.
  • Fills all production, shipping orders as required and assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers and boxing, bundling, crafting, or banding items for various methods of shipments desired.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items on outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. On the job training (OJT), if applicable, is to be performed by a qualified operator and/or Team Leader.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read tape measures and blue prints.
  • Able to operate runout tables, end finishing and bundling, storage building loads.
  • Must qualify and maintain handler's equipment operator license as provided by the company.
  • Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc)
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the Team Leader, and to meet our customer's needs.

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Resumen del puesto:

El operador de produccion operara acabadores de extremos de tubos, sierras de cinta, gruas aereas, montacargas y cargadores laterales. Ayudara con la instalacion de herramientas en los Molinos de Tubos.

Funciones esenciales:

  • Observa la operacion y verifica las dimensiones de los productos terminados.
  • Inspecciona rutinariamente y retira piezas terminadas de la cama de la maquina.
  • Realiza todas las verificaciones de calidad necesarias y registra esos controles segun sea requerido.
  • Realiza el mantenimiento rutinario y no rutinario en el molino y los equipos relacionados, segun lo indique el Lider de Equipo.
  • Opera todos los equipos de manejo de materiales (montacargas, gruas puente y carros de mano).
  • Realiza conteos de cantidad precisos de todos los materiales entrantes y salientes.
  • Coloca etiquetas o marcas identificativas en los materiales o marca informacion con un lapiz de pintura o plantillas con pintura en aerosol.
  • Descarga todos los materiales recibidos de los remolques de camiones semirremolque usando montacargas grandes y mueve el material a la ubicacion designada en el almacen.
  • Almacena todo el material entrante en el almacen, asegurando que todas las etiquetas, documentacion y datos esten completos.
  • Llena todas las ordenes de produccion y envio segun sea necesario y ensambla contenedores de madera o carton, o selecciona contenedores preensamblados para empaquetar, atar, embalar o agrupar los articulos para los diversos metodos de envio deseados.
  • Compara la informacion de identificacion y realiza el conteo, el peso o la medida de los articulos en los envios salientes para verificar contra las cartas de porte, facturas, pedidos u otros registros.

Cualificaciones:

  • Diploma de escuela secundaria o GED, preferido.
  • De tres a seis meses de experiencia relacionada y/o formacion; o combinacion equivalente de educacion y experiencia. La formacion en el puesto de trabajo (OJT), si es aplicable, sera realizada por un operador calificado y/o el Lider de Equipo.
