GrayWolf is seeking Structural Welders at our Rincon, GA project.

Summary:

A Structural Welder raises, places and unites girders, columns and other structural-steel members to form completed structures or structure frameworks.

Essential Duties:

  • Welding Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with the construction field.
  • Welding Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner.
  • Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Visualizes objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Secure components together applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Bolt, clamp and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Prepare material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder.
  • Set material in stands, racks , hoists etc. for welding
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas shielded arc, gas shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening and reshaping.
  • Reassemble parts using cutting torch, straightening press and hand tools.


Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Welder.
  • Ability to identify all techniques of welding (TIG, MIG, Arc etc.) and know all properties of various types of metals and how heat affects them.
  • Completion of welding certification(s) required by company and/or client.
  • Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
