Job description

Regional Human Resources Director

Blue Compass RV | Pacific West Region | $150,000+ plus bonus | Field-Based, 80% Travel

We move fast. You should too.

Blue Compass RV is the fastest-growing RV dealer group in the country — 100+ dealerships and counting. Growth at this speed doesn't wait for perfect conditions, and neither do we. We're looking for a Regional HR Director who treats urgency as a mindset, not a deadline — someone who shows up with energy, reads a room in seconds, and moves before the problem gets bigger.

This isn't a policy-and-paperwork HR seat. It's a field leadership role for someone who wants to be in the stores, in the market, and in the room where decisions get made — protecting the business and the people in it, at the same time, every day.

Who thrives here

You'll know within the first paragraph if this is you:

  • You bring urgency, not anxiety. When something needs attention, you're already moving — calm, decisive, and three steps ahead of the fire drill.
  • You bring energy people can feel. Store leaders and associates leave conversations with you more confident, not more anxious.
  • You're agile by default. Ten states, dozens of store personalities, different regulatory environments — you adjust your approach without losing your standards.
  • You hold two things at once. You're a true business partner who wants what's best for the company — and the instinct to protect it (legally, financially, reputationally) never turns off. The best HR leaders don't choose between advocate and guardian. You do both, daily.

If that's how you already operate, keep reading.

The opportunity

As Regional HR Director, you'll own the HR strategy and execution for stores across Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington. You'll report into senior leadership as a true strategic partner — not a downstream implementer — shaping how we staff, retain, develop, and protect our people across a fast-moving, multi-state footprint.

Expect to be on the road up to 80% of the time. This is a role for someone energized by being in stores, not behind a desk — someone who'd rather solve a problem in person than manage it over email.

What you'll actually do
  • Be the strategic HR voice in the room. Partner directly with senior leadership and store operators to connect HR strategy to real business goals — staffing, recruiting, and retention that actually moves the needle.
  • Build the playbook, then run it. Design and roll out policies, training, initiatives, and surveys that scale across a rapidly growing, multi-state operation.
  • Own the hard conversations. Lead investigations, disciplinary matters, and performance management with fairness, speed, and sound judgment — protecting both the associate experience and the company.
  • Get ahead of the staffing curve. Identify hiring needs before they become crises and build best-in-class recruiting and talent practices for the region.
  • Turn data into decisions. Use HRIS and talent management analytics to spot trends before they become problems — and bring solutions, not just reports, to leadership.
  • Keep us compliant, everywhere, always. Stay ahead of federal, state, and local employment law across ten states and adjust policy in real time as regulations shift.
  • Be the culture builder. Own the associate satisfaction process and be the person leaders call when they need a real read on what's driving engagement — or disengagement.
  • Build trust at every level. From frontline associates to store operators to senior leadership, you're the relationship that makes HR credible in the field.
What's in it for you
  • Compensation: $150,000+
  • Real career runway at one of the fastest-growing companies in the RV industry — we promote from within and invest in your development
  • Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, disability, FSAs, and life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Pet insurance (because your team includes the four-legged ones too)
  • 5-day work week
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Legal coverage and identity theft protection
  • A seat at the table — not just a seat in the org chart
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR management experience
  • Proven experience managing HR operations across multiple locations
  • Thorough, current knowledge of employment law across multiple states
  • Strong analytical instincts — comfortable turning HRIS and talent data into action
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • The organizational discipline to manage competing priorities across ten states without dropping the ball
  • Willingness and desire to travel up to 80%
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Automotive HR or big-box retail HR experience is a strong plus
Why now

We're not asking you to maintain something that already works. We're asking you to help build it, in real time, across a footprint that's still growing. If you want an HR seat where your judgment actually shapes outcomes — where urgency is valued, energy is contagious, and being both a partner and a protector isn't a contradiction but the job description — this is it.

We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
