Job description

Ready to step into a high-impact role where youll own and modernize the infrastructure behind institutional client reporting? TRC Talent Solutions is hiring a Data & Reporting Engineer for a growing investment management firm in Atlanta, GA.

The Opportunity
Youll build the pipelines that power performance reporting, automate manual workflows, and ensure client-facing data is accurate, timely, and defensible. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, investment operations, and reporting delivery. Youll have the opportunity to challenge legacy workflows, redesign processes, and implement scalable solutions using Python, SQL, and modern data tooling.

What Youll Be Doing
Own client reporting from data to delivery. Lead the end-to-end production of performance attribution, portfolio summaries, and institutional reporting packages, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, consistent, and ready for client use.
Build scalable data pipelines. Connect portfolio, performance, and risk systems; develop ETL workflows using Python and SQL; and create single-source-of-truth datasets that strengthen reporting reliability.
Redesign and automate reporting workflows. Map monthly and quarterly production cycles, eliminate manual steps and bottlenecks, and replace spreadsheet-heavy processes with more auditable, automated systems.
Strengthen data controls. Identify and resolve discrepancies in performance and position data, build automated checks for cash flows, NAVs, and attribution, and improve data governance and reliability.
Enhance reporting output. Improve report clarity, structure, and usability while helping design templates and layouts that communicate investment results more effectively.
Introduce intelligent automation. Deploy tools for exception flagging and validation and explore AI-assisted workflows that improve reporting speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
Partner across the business. Work with investment, product, operations, and compliance teams; support custom client reporting and evolving business needs.

What We Are Looking For
Experience in financial data or reporting environments: Asset management, hedge funds, or similar data-intensive settings. Exposure to performance, attribution, positions, or risk data.
Strong technical foundation: SQL (advanced querying, validation, data modeling); Python (data processing, workflow automation). Experience building reliable, production-grade data pipelines.
Understanding of investment data concepts: Portfolio accounting, performance calculations and attribution, and data reconciliation and integrity.
Familiarity with financial data platforms (preferred): FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Charles River, SimCorp, Advent/Geneva, Eagle, Enfusion, FIS.
Systems and process mindset: Ability to identify inefficiencies and redesign workflows. Comfortable working in fast-moving, evolving environments.
Strong communication skills: Able to explain technical issues in clear business terms. Effective across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Why Youll Love This Role

Direct ownership of client-facing outputs that matter.
Opportunity to rebuild reporting and data infrastructure from the ground up.

Exposure across investment, trading, and operational workflows.

Environment focused on automation, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.
