Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Technician
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Days, 3x12, shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, rotating weekends (usually every 5th weekend); no call.
Job Description
A critical access hospital in Lincoln, Maine is seeking qualified Medical Technologists (MT) or Medical Lab Technicians (MLT) for a 13-week assignment. Candidates must have graduated from an approved program and will complete a first week of training before starting regular shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Perform microbiology tasks, including gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures.
  • Conduct Blood Bank testing as needed.
  • Proficient in phlebotomy and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comply with Covid regulations including proper use of PPE and handling of isolation rooms.
  • Work holidays as needed on a rotating basis.
  • Communicate proficiently with team members and patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduation from an approved laboratory program.
  • Experience in microbiology preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
