The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) offers experienced phlebotomists and non-experienced individuals who want to join the healthcare field, the training needed to join our Mobile Blood Drive Team!
The Donor Collections Technician receives assignments working a varied schedule traveling to different mobile blood drives weekly at differing locations. Each varied schedule is provided 2 weeks in advance. We train individuals that are naturally welcoming and committed to carrying out our mission by providing excellent customer service to our donors. BBD encourages work-life balance for all our staff and look forward to adding individuals who want to be in a healthcare role to the team!
***Shift Schedule: Morning, Evening, and Weekend shifts are required. Schedule released 2 weeks in advance***
  • 6-8 Weeks of paid training. First 3-4 weeks of classroom training takes place in our Christiana Donor Center/HQ in Newark, DE.
  • This position offers a 3-step career ladder for new employees until they develop and successfully demonstrate the skills to learn advanced blood collection procedures.
  • This position is "essential" during severe weather or emergency operation events.
  • Conducts donor interviews in a confidential professional manner to determine donor eligibilities according to BBD standards.
  • Initiates whole blood collection/phlebotomy procedures and monitors the donor's progress, according to BBD collection guidelines.
  • Prepares for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring that interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in keeping with Quality Control standards.
  • Exemplifies BBD's Customer Service Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications
  • Must have your own reliable vehicle
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience
  • Minimum of 1 years of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment
