Provide technical product training for employees, customers and distributors. Maintain training records and course materials within the Learning Management System (LMS). Provide innovative solutions in the creation of training programs and tools according to Werfen and regulatory guidelines.  Follow procedures and maintain training records to ensure compliance with the Werfen Quality System.


Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency for all Werfen transfusion products and instruments including operation of instrumentation, hardware, software and assay/reagent systems;
  • Provide technical training on instrument operation, OQ/IQ procedures, troubleshooting, maintenance and corrective maintenance.
  • Assist with the evaluation of skills and review performance of trainees as it relates to their job responsibilities, including field travel if deemed necessary.
  • Develop classroom and continuting education programs for employees, distributors or customers in operation, qualification, safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and reagents utilizing performance based training model. Manage training projects and priorities according to associated deadlines.
  • Demonstrate and practice the use of reference materials such as procedures, operation manuals, service manuals, specifications, and troubleshooting materials with each training session.
  • Utilize appropriate laboratory exercises, skills assessments/quizes, checklists and evaluations for each class. Update when necessary and maintain records and metrics in accordance with procedures, good documentation standards and Werfen quality system guidelines. 
  • Schedule classes based on classroom and equipment availability.
  • Provide training on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation, following class outlines, handouts, and materials. Use visual aids, such as graphs, charts, video, and slides, where appropriate.
  • May install, program, and maintain instrumentation in customer established locations, when deemed necessary.
  • Maintain Level 1, 2 and 3 metrics to determine effectiveness of training programs and prepare reports for management.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical Technology Degree (MLS Certification) preferred.

Blood Bank Technical experience preferred. Medical Device / Diagnostic industry experience preferred. Technical Training experience preferred.
