Foley is currently seeking a Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) Senior Specialist to join our team! The right candidate will have strong project management skills and assist the Business Law Department in managing and executing initiatives that support the Finance, Real Estate, Insurance, Government Solutions/Lobbying, and Environmental practice groups, as well as the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team. This position will report to the BD&M Manager to stay versed on emerging legal and market trends and help position the firm for increased revenue and profile-raising opportunities. The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with attorneys and Business Development & Marketing colleagues to support strategic business development initiatives, client opportunities, and profile-raising efforts across multiple practices.

Responsibilities
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives for the Finance, Real Estate, Environmental, Insurance, and Government Solutions practice groups, as well as the lobbying team.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain customized pitches, proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and other client-facing marketing and business development materials.
  • Conduct client, market, industry, and competitive intelligence research to support strategic business development opportunities, client pursuits, cross-selling initiatives, and efforts to deepen existing client relationships and expand the client base.
  • Support strategic client teams and key client opportunities by assisting with research, planning, tailored marketing materials, and business development strategies.
  • Coordinate and support legal directory, rankings, and award submissions, including gathering information about matters, coordinating attorney input, drafting submissions, and managing related follow-up efforts.
  • Plan and execute webinars, virtual programs, seminars, conferences, sponsorships, client entertainment, and other thought leadership and profile-raising events, including coordinating speakers, logistics, invitations, marketing communications, website and digital promotion, attendee tracking, reporting, and follow-up communications.
  • Coordinate attorney participation in sponsorships, conferences, speaking engagements, rankings, awards, memberships, and other profile-raising initiatives, helping maximize the value of firm investments and related benefits.
  • Manage key practice group memberships, sponsorships, industry listings, and related opportunities, including annual renewals, profile updates, advertising opportunities, and associated marketing initiatives.
  • Create, distribute, publish, and maintain thought leadership and marketing content, including client alerts, invitations, newsletters, industry insights, articles, blog posts, event pages, attorney biographies, internal newsletters, and related website content through the firm's content management and communication platforms.
  • Develop and coordinate social media promotion efforts for attorney achievements, events, publications, thought leadership, rankings, and other business development initiatives, including drafting share packages and creating supporting graphics and marketing materials.
  • Maintain and update the firm's CRM database for supporting practice groups, including data entry, list management, external mailings, and reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate memberships, sponsorships, events, and other opportunities that support profile-raising, lead generation, and business development objectives.
  • Track and report on the return on investment of business development and marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, practice groups, sectors, and Business Development & Marketing team members to identify client service opportunities, strengthen internal relationships, and support firmwide initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of business development and/or marketing experience required, preferably in legal or a complex, consultative professional services organization.
  • Understanding of the legal industry, government affairs and lobbying, financial services sector, real estate industry, environmental sector, or related markets strongly desired.

The actual amount offered will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
