Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mason - Layup is responsible for building residential block walls according to company quality standards. Owns daily production at target rates with high quality and consistency.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lay block in construction of retaining and fence walls.
- Work with the crew to hit production budgets and meet quality standards.
- Lay 540 of the 6" T & G block per day with high quality.
- Lay 375 of the 8" block per day with high quality.
- Build A column enclosures.
- Stock block when necessary.
- Cut and drop rebar.
- Mark and measure cuts for block.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Foreman.
Position Requirements
MUST HAVE - REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Provides all necessary mason tools (tool bag, trowel, levels, jointers, hammers, measuring tape, etc.).
- Able to read and comprehend measurements.
- Reliable transportation to travel between jobs throughout the day.
- Able to work at a fast pace and remain calm under pressure.
- Able to lift 90 lbs.
- OSHA 10 card required.
- Able to safely work in hot and cold outdoor temperatures on construction job sites.
- Pass mandatory pre-employment and ongoing drug screening.
- Able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete documentation, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
NICE TO HAVE - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1)+ year of residential block masonry experience.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish).
- Prior masonry experience in residential or commercial construction.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
