As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your main responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians to determine their physical therapy needs.
• Designing, implementing, and modifying individualized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices and support physicians' directives.
• Administering and facilitating therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques, exercise programs, and modality applications.
• Providing patient education and training for patients and their caregivers to enhance recovery and prevent future injuries.
• Documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and improve overall care.
• Collaborating with colleagues to establish a cohesive approach to treatment, maximizing patient outcomes through shared expertise.
• Continuously assessing the effectiveness of treatment strategies and adjusting as necessary to meet the evolving needs of each patient.
• Participating in community outreach programs aimed at promoting health and wellness.

This role will primarily focus on orthopedic patients, where you will address a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse demographics, including athletes recovering from sports injuries and older adults seeking to improve mobility and reduce pain. The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy to practice in Virginia.
• Proficiency in basic life support techniques, with certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Competent in utilizing electronic health record systems and other relevant software tools for documentation and scheduling.

While two years of experience in a clinical setting is required, candidates with additional experience in orthopedics, pediatrics, or neurologic physical therapy will be preferred. A proven ability to establish rapport with patients and drive them towards achieving their therapeutic goals is essential.
