Job description
Description of position:
Inspect lenses for flaws and organize trays accordingly. Ensure new work ticket is batched with lenses. Laser
engrave and clip lenses to prepare for robotic equipment. Match completed lenses up to correct tray. Run clip
strip machine. Sandblast equipment to clean and ensure clean parts are readily available.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Pre-Inspects lenses for cosmetic flaws. Sort and organizes trays, prints DVI ticket and insets lenses and tickets into envelope. Inspects and cleans lenses. Performs laser engraving, mounts lenses in clips and racks for further processing. Scans work for tracking.
- Runs machinery to wash and strip clips for re-use. Organizes clips on racks for the clipping operation.
- Loads lenses into lenses stripping machine. Scans work for tracking.
- Operates sand blaster to clean shields, sectors, rings and clips. Cleans box coder machinery.
- Inspects and organizes jobs and lenses to be sent to the Outlab. Receives jobs from the Outlab and matches envelope to correct tray. Unwraps and puts into correct tray. Scans work for tracking and moves to the Bench Department.
- Keeps work area neat and clean.
Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Assists in other departments of the company as necessary.
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess):
- Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED
- Licenses/Certifications: None
- Experience: In Optical field preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills: Manual and finger dexterity; ability to read and interpret written information; attention to detail, quality and meeting precise standards; good organizational and communication skills. Must be able to lift and maneuver metal shields weighing 30 to 40 lbs. Good eye sight
