Alphanumeric is hiring a Packaged Equipment Engineer - Level 3 to join our client in Lake Mary, FL-an industry leader in sustainable, energy-efficient power technologies. This role is ideal for a seasoned mechanical systems engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with diverse teams, and developing robust engineering solutions that support global clean-energy initiatives.

About the Engineering Group

The Mechanical Systems Engineering team is responsible for end-to-end engineering and integration of major systems, including:

  • Lube Oil Unit & Oil Mist Separator
  • Control Oil Unit & Control Oil Cleaning Unit
  • Compressor Blade Washing Unit
  • Heat Exchangers (Turbine Cooling Air Cooler, 2C Cooler, 4S Cooler, ECA Cooler, Fuel Gas Heater, FG Dew Point Heater, Closed Cooling Water Coolers)
  • Fuel Gas Conditioning Equipment (Filter/Separators, Scrubbers, Filters)
  • Gas Turbine & Auxiliary Enclosure HVAC Systems
  • Enhanced Cooling Air Equipment (Compressor & Drain Mist Separator)
  • Fire Fighting Systems
  • GT Modular Enclosures

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Packaged Equipment Engineer - Level 3 will play a critical role in system design, vendor management, integration, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include:

Engineering, Design & Technical Analysis

  • Interpret P&IDs, drawings, and technical documentation to define system requirements.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations to ensure proper sizing and performance of mechanical equipment.
  • Develop inquiry and purchase specifications for mechanical systems and components.
  • Review and evaluate vendor designs for compliance with codes, standards, contracts, and internal requirements.
  • Specify testing requirements and analyze vendor test results to validate performance.
  • Ensure arrangement drawings and foundation interfaces meet engineering and project specifications.
  • Integrate design requirements provided by global engineering teams.

Vendor Qualification & Collaboration

  • Provide technical recommendations for vendor selection and qualification.
  • Meet regularly with suppliers to ensure technical alignment and on-time deliverables.
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence to vendors and cross-functional engineering teams.

Project Execution & Deliverables

  • Develop and manage schedules for engineering deliverables to meet project milestones.
  • Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customers, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes and standards in system design.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management, including risks and mitigation plans.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization

  • Lead development of standard drawings, specifications, and design improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce system costs without compromising quality or performance.
  • Establish and refine engineering processes to optimize resources and improve output quality.
  • Implement corrective actions to reduce nonconformance and enhance product reliability.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate innovative ideas for product and system improvements.
  • Proactively enhance engineering tools, workflows, and documentation.
  • Work effectively in a multicultural, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Travel between 5%-20% as required.
