Midwest Regional Sales Representative – Chicago Region
Our client is a niche provider / OEM / Manufacturer of industrial monitoring equipment used in water treatment, healthcare and critical facilities industries. They provide design, commissioning, and consulting expertise as it pertains to the company's OEM product. This company provides monitoring solutions to many of the world's largest organizations, along with Enterprise Clients, Colocation Providers, AI / HPC, Bitcoin and Hyperscale Companies. Our client is looking for a Sales Rep to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess contacts in the Data Center / Critical Facilities Industry. The focus of this position is to expand the customer base. This will be achieved by calling on established clients and prospects.

The Sales Rep will also be responsible for preparing proposals, presentations, and briefings. A proven track record of selling data center products as an engineered solutions sales are a must, along with a strong background in OEM Sales with electrical / mechanical / fire / building automation / or plumbing .


Responsibilities:

  • Pursue opportunities directly with Data Center Customers: Enterprise, Colos, Hyperscale, AI, HPC, Bitcoin; Clean room / semi conductor, etc and sell company's leak detection product line
  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan to achieve the quota for the region in support of the growth objectives
  • Hunt, prospect, qualify leads, create new sales opportunities and convert into closing deals
  • Collaborate with technical team, operations and management to manage customer expectations
  • Ability to schedule sales meetings and presentations with qualified decision makers
  • Leverage relationships with Partners such as Rep Firms, Channel Partners, Resellers, Integrators, Consulting Engineers, Mechanical Contractors, and Subcontractors to promote and adopt specifications
  • Develop and manage regional channel partners to improve market share, revenue growth and profitability across different market sectors
  • Work with internal teams to develop RFP/RFI responses, project proposals and submittals.
  • Responsible for Scope and Proposal development, perform site surveys and provide scope solutions for customer issues
  • Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to improve pipeline qualification and quality of opportunities pursued
  • Monitor and discuss the progress of the sales opportunities with sales and senior leadership
  • Provide feedback regarding market trends, pricing and competitive landscape to product line engineering / technical team
  • Utilize the company's CRM tool to track, report, and manage all sales activities
  • Responsible for updating CRM tool information
  • Attend events, trade shows and trade association meetings to facilitate networking opportunities
  • Participate in trade shows and other marketing initiative with focus to raise product awareness and increase sales


Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 yrs+ of relevant data center experience
  • 5+ years of technical OEM Product Sales - Leak Detection, Controls, Life Safety, HVAC, Alarm Systems, Monitoring Equipment, Low voltage devices, etc
  • Background / Contacts with design engineering firms as their product is an engineered solution that needs to be added to the design specs of contract
  • Strong track record in developing channel partners
  • Business Contacts in the desired Region – Data Center End Users - Engineering Design Departments, GCs, OEMs, Subs, etc
  • Active member / participant / conference attendee of organizations such as 7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, IEEE, DCD, Bisnow, Imasons, Uptime, etc
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, SeaBees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
  • Must be a team player and be able to build long-term cooperative partner relationships with internal and external individuals who are part of the business development process
  • Must be familiar with the typical data center sales cycle process
  • Must be able to demonstrate a sustained track record of business development accomplishments as related to new business opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products ( Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); in addition to tools such as Bluebeam and Adobe etc.
  • Flexible and open to travel to client sites, trade shows, etc as needed - up to 50%
  • B/A, B/S, Associates or relevant technical experience a plus
