Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. About the role

This is a multifaceted training role designed to provide instructional support through training analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs to ensure Aalo Atomics personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their assigned tasks.

You will ensure training activities are in compliance with company procedures and all applicable DOE, NRC, State, and Federal regulations.

Management prefers candidates with a demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through Basic Instructor Training (BIT) or equivalent, and knowledge and/or expertise in nuclear, safety, and equipment training. Andragogical learning theory and a working knowledge of classroom motivation and management are key to the position.

What you'll do
  • Instruct classroom courses in various topics
  • Ensure operational excellence is incorporated into training, including Conduct of Operations & Maintenance, ISMS, and Human Performance principles.
  • Apply the principle of ISMS-CCR, Systematic Approach to Training, and a Graded Approach in all aspects of job execution.
  • Routinely communicate with department management and/or subject matter experts to identify training needs and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Review and update course material on a regular basis to ensure personnel are receiving the most current information.
  • Work with department management to create training plans, job codes, and qualified watchlists within the LMS.
  • Complete other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience and be qualified by the training manager (or equivalent) for the material being presented.
  • Ability to work onsite in Idaho Falls, Austin, and INL.
    Preferred
  • 10+ years training/nuclear experience
  • Baccalaureate degree in Training and Development, BIT, or equivalent experience in adult learning.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects, good time management skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure. Flexibility and creativity in developing and presenting engaging training. Have a thorough understanding of nuclear operations and conduct of operations.
  • Familiar with Systematic Approach to Training and NE O 426.2, "Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities", as well as ASME NQA-1 2022, “Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications,” Requirement 2.
