The Licensed Mental Health Therapist position is responsible for meeting with clients (children, adolescents and adults) in office or via telehealth to conduct Behavioral Health Assessments and to provide individual and family counseling. The therapist is required to be in-office three days each week and work two days remotely to provide 30 hours of direct services to clients each week.
The best candidate for this position will have experience in core mental health services in Georgia. Candidates who do not have experience in core mental health services in Georgia will not be considered.
Candidates should have knowledge of community current therapeutic approaches and have experience delivering therapeutic services in home and community settings.
Candidates must demonstrate ability to follow stated treatment goals, objectives, and interventions. Candidates must demonstrate ability to create and update treatment plan goals, objectives and interventions for the person serve.
Candidates must have knowledge or BIRP note writing style and must show high proficiency with writing BIRP notes which includes quality and timeliness of BIRP note submissions.
Duties to include:
1. Complete a minimum of 5 initial Behavioral Health assessments weekly
2. Conduct Diagnostic Assessments. Initial assessments completed by Master's Level or Associate Licensed clinicians require that a Diagnostic Assessment is completed by a fully licensed clinician within 30 days of the assessment.
3. Review documentation (assessments, BIRP notes, treatment plans) of services and documentation provided by Master's Level or Associate Licensed clinicians
4. Complete authorizations
5. Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to consumers and families as appropriate to needs; prepare treatment plans, discharge summaries, monthly summaries, BIRP Note and crisis intervention, as well as emergency services as needed
6. Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for consumers in a crisis condition and for those with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
7. Document services provided in BIRP format using Sharenote system
8. Adhere to 24-hour documentation turnaround time
Requirements:
For licensed professionals, candidate must be licensed in the state of Georgia
Counselor must be capable of providing therapy to youths and adults.
Must have the ability to find community linkages and connect clients with other needed community service
Must be able to provide 3 references.
Must have or qualify to obtain CPI certification
Must have or qualify to obtain CPR, First Aid, and CPI certifications
Must have dependable transportation for travel to downtown and Greater Atlanta area.
Job Related:
Experience working with clients who suffer from substance abuse and mental health problems is a plus.
The ability and knowledge to work with "high risk" individuals at times.
Must be able to utilize great communication and analytical skills.
Must have advanced knowledge of therapy application and mental health
