Job description

M.Bird is Tampaโ€™s premier rooftop destination perched high above the iconic Armature Works, offering something rare: waterfront views, tropical craft cocktails, sharable small plates, and an atmosphere that transforms gracefully from sunset dinner to one of the most vibrant nights out in the city. A Three Oaks Hospitality concept, M.Bird exists in a world of its own, a deco-inspired rooftop where elevated dining meets high-energy nightlife, and every evening tells a story worth remembering.

As a Host or Hostess at M.Bird, you are the first chapter of that story. Before the first sip, before the first bite, before the skyline steals their breath โ€” thereโ€™s you. You set the tone, hold the rhythm, and make every guest feel like theyโ€™ve arrived somewhere truly special. If you have the poise to command a busy floor, the warmth to make anyone feel welcome, and the instinct to anticipate what guests need before they ask, M.Bird is your stage โ€” and the view from up here is worth every moment.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome guests to M.Bird with warmth and intention โ€” first impressions set the entire evening
  • Provide accurate wait times and manage the waitlist with confidence and transparency
  • Manage reservations and coordinate seating across our dining and bar areas with precision
  • Escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and introduce their server by name
  • Bid farewell to every departing guest โ€” close the experience as gracefully as you opened it
  • Coordinate with the wait staff on available seating and floor flow in real time
  • Maintain a polished, organized reception area that reflects the sophistication of M.Bird
  • Give extra care and attention to guests who may need additional assistance
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and address guest inquiries with professionalism
  • Step in to assist the wait staff as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • A natural ability to connect with people and make them feel genuinely at ease
  • Strong organizational skills โ€” you can manage a full floor without losing your composure
  • Solid understanding of restaurant etiquette and guest experience standards
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
  • Ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area with a sharp, attentive eye
  • Flexibility to work late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Good physical condition to stand and move throughout an entire shift
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Hospitality certification is a plus
  • Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or Server preferred
  • Experience managing reservations is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Remain standing for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Bending, squatting, and lifting up to 15 lbs. for short distances
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with varying noise levels

What's In It for You

  • Employee Discount
  • Competitive Pay
  • Referral Program - Know great people? Bring them in
  • Flexible Schedule - Work that fits your life
  • Collaborative Team Environment - A crew that lifts each other up โ€” we win as one
