Job Overview:

Pharmaron is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Germantown, MD. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career scientific professional to gain hands-on experience in a GLP-regulated laboratory environment while supporting innovative drug discovery and development programs.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the laboratory by supporting sample management, laboratory organization, documentation, and compliance activities. Working alongside experienced scientists and laboratory professionals, you will gain valuable exposure to regulated research processes and contribute directly to studies that advance life-changing therapies for patients worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organized, clean, and compliant laboratory environments, including glassware washing and disposal of biowaste in accordance with departmental SOPs.
  • Perform daily checks to ensure proper documentation and compliant labeling of reagent containers.
  • Assist with document scanning and other administrative support activities for project teams.
  • Receive, log, and track study samples within validated laboratory systems.
  • Coordinate sample destruction activities as directed by Sponsors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate positive control of study-related materials.
  • Support inventory monitoring and laboratory supply management activities.
  • Assist with laboratory maintenance activities, including solution preparation and equipment calibration/maintenance, as needed.
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support responses to deviations, inspections, and audit findings, as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff while demonstrating the ability to work independently.

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent coursework (60 or more college credit hours) in a related field.
  • Previous laboratory, academic research, internship, or sample management experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP, GMP, or GCP) is a plus.
