As a Controls Technician in Rochester, NY, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. You will contribute directly to business success by maintaining and optimizing control systems that drive safe and high-quality production. This position supports a permanent night shift schedule (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday). Candidates should be comfortable working overnight hours on a regular basis.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation

  • Support ongoing operations by diagnosing equipment issues and implementing timely corrective actions

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on control systems and electrical equipment

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize system performance and reliability

  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new control systems and equipment

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in controls, electrical, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance roles within a manufacturing environment

  • Field of study in Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline (no degree required)

  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley or similar systems)

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, sensors, drives, and process instrumentation

  • Ability to analyze problems, think critically, and implement effective solutions

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected hourly salary range for this role is $31 to $40, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.

This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
