We're hiring! Kemin is seeking a Quality Assistant to join our team. The primary function of the Quality Assistant is to provide product support to Operations and external customers through a variety of analytical chemistry and wet chemistry activities. This includes sampling raw materials, chemical analysis, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and project reporting. This also includes communication with Operations and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • May collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
  • May test raw materials as applicable.
  • Must follow all procedures and SOPs and assist with updates.
  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Support Change Management process, as necessary.
  • Daily data entry into M3 and LIMs, as applicable.
  • Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
  • Send out supplier evaluation samples, as applicable.
  • Must follow good lab procedures, safety, etc.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma with two years of related experience OR
    • Associates Degree in a Science related field
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection or other related experience preferred.
  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must have basic computer skills, including MS Office
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct, and perform method validation on lab equipment
  • Ability to interact well with others in a team environment
  • Must have basic math skills
