To support progress across the industry, they provide state-of-the-art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on.

This is a direct hire, permanent placement position for a client of AdAstra Talent Advisors. This position is based in the Bay Area. More company details will be shared during an initial call.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys personally driving searches end-to-end, and wants to help scale the recruiting function while remaining deeply hands-on in execution. We are looking to bring on an individual with exceptional search craft, strong technical recruiting judgment, high urgency, and a relentless drive to raise the talent bar.

The ideal candidate is energized by high standards, fast iteration, and operating in close partnership with deeply technical founders and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to technical teams to determine and fill critical hiring gaps with urgency

  • Personally drive full-cycle recruiting across technical and scientific functions

  • Run expert intakes and translate scientific and engineering needs into calibrated search strategies

  • Build proactive pipelines and talent maps across highly competitive technical talent markets

  • Source, engage, assess, and close exceptional talent across engineering, hardware, ML, biotech, and neuroscience

  • Partner with hiring teams to design high-signal candidate evaluation tactics and execute effective closing strategies

  • Lead candidate closes end-to-end, from initial outreach through acceptance

  • Help scale recruiting operations, processes, and infrastructure as the company grows

  • Partner closely with leadership on hiring prioritization, recruiting strategy, and talent calibration

  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience while maintaining a consistently high hiring bar

Requirements

  • Strong track record sourcing, assessing, and closing high-caliber technical talent in startup or hard-tech environments

  • Experience recruiting for highly technical functions such as hardware, robotics, ML, biotech, neuroscience, engineering, or related domains

  • Strong academic track record and demonstrated intellectual rigor

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Ability to operate autonomously with high urgency and strong judgment

  • Comfort working directly with founders, executives, and technical leadership

  • Strong communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environments

  • Expertise in technical sourcing and recruiting technology

Preferred Experience

  • Experience at highly technical startups or top-tier technical organizations strongly preferred

  • Background in BCI/neurotech, biotech, hard-tech, or AI is a plus

  • Prior people leadership experience is helpful but not required

We recognize that strong candidates may not meet every qualification. If your experience aligns with the core scope of this role, we encourage you to apply.

Logistical Requirements

  • This position is fully onsite in Alameda, CA

Cash compensation of $150,000 – $225,000 per year. Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities, and internal equity.

Benefit Highlights
