Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Associate Location: Novato, CA 94949 Type: Contract Compensation: $28.00 per hour with shift differential Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Sunday – Tuesday 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., with alternating Saturdays Overview Leading biotechnology company looking for an experienced Manufacturing Associate. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering-related field, or an Associate’s degree in science/biotech with 2+ years of experience in biotech manufacturing or related regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Apply process knowledge to understand process theory and equipment operation.
  • Support biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including cell culture, filtration, chromatography, centrifugation, and formulation.
  • Assist in process optimization initiatives and identify processing issues, supporting solutions.
  • Gain experience with automation systems such as LIMS, MES, PI, etc.
  • Provide feedback and suggested updates to operational procedures, assisting in the adoption of new technologies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMPs and utilize quality systems like Deviations, CAPAs, and Change Requests.
  • Participate in projects, supporting new business systems like Trackwise and ERP, and contribute to departmental metrics trending.
  • Perform strenuous, repetitive physical work including bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and equipment connections.
  • Regularly lift or move items weighing approximately 25 pounds.
  • Work around loud equipment, with the use of personal protective equipment, possibly during various shifts and off-hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering-related field, or an Associate’s degree in science/biotech with 2+ years of experience in biotech manufacturing or related regulated industries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with good conflict resolution and collaboration skills.
  • Initiative to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work on-site and perform physical tasks as required.
