As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Market Development Manager, AI Scientific Platform will support the launch, adoption, and engagement strategy for a new AI-enabled workspace designed to help academic and translational lab scientists design experiments, refine protocols, identify relevant publications, and access trusted Thermo Fisher Scientific product and protocol knowledge.

This role will own the marketing workstream for the platform, including messaging, launch planning, campaign execution, customer engagement, and adoption programs. The successful candidate will work closely with senior marketing leadership and partner across product, IT, legal, commercial, digital, business unit, and agency teams. This is a unique opportunity for a life sciences marketer with strong scientific fluency to help bring a new AI-enabled customer experience from alpha testing through launch and ongoing adoption.

Location:

This is an onsite role based in one of the following locations: Carlsbad, CA; Waltham, MA; Madison, WI; Rockford, IL; Eugene, OR; Fort Collins, CO; Grand Island, NY; or Frederick, MD.  Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the marketing workstream for a pre-launch AI-enabled scientific platform, including marketing planning, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Support go-to-market planning with senior marketing leadership and cross-functional partners across product, IT, legal, commercial, digital, business units, and agencies.
  • Develop positioning, messaging, value propositions, and audience-specific narratives for academic and translational lab scientists.
  • Create and execute marketing programs that drive awareness, registered users, active users, platform engagement, and repeat usage.
  • Translate scientific workflows across Molecular Biology, Protein & Cellular Analysis, and Cell Biology into compelling customer-facing messaging, campaign concepts, and educational content.
  • Serve as a scientific marketing partner by assessing platform use cases, reviewing customer relevance of platform outputs, and engaging subject matter experts when deeper validation is needed.
  • Contribute to knowledgebase strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and organize relevant scientific, product, protocol, publication, and application content.
  • Use platform analytics, customer insights, and marketing performance data to optimize adoption programs and identify future growth opportunities, including growth marketing, demand generation, and customer engagement.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, life sciences, marketing, business administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in life sciences marketing, market development, product marketing, digital marketing, scientific communications, portfolio marketing, or a related role; or 6+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree.
  • Strong scientific fluency, ideally anchored in Molecular Biology, Protein & Cellular Analysis, Cell Biology, translational research, or a related life sciences field.
  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies, campaigns, launch plans, or customer engagement programs in life sciences, biotechnology, scientific products, digital platforms, informatics, e-commerce, or related markets.
  • Ability to translate academic and translational research workflows, protocols, and technical content into clear customer messaging, campaign assets, and sales enablement tools.
  • Experience collaborating across matrixed organizations with marketing, product management, IT, legal, commercial, digital, business unit, and agency stakeholders.
  • Ability to use marketing performance data, customer insights, and digital engagement metrics to optimize programs and inform growth opportunities.
  • Strong project management, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in a life science discipline or equivalent scientific experience.
  • Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, protein biology, antibodies, imaging, flow cytometry, cell and gene therapy, synthetic biology, neuroscience, oncology, immunology, or related research areas.
  • Experience supporting launch, adoption, lifecycle marketing, or engagement programs for AI-enabled products, digital customer experiences, scientific software, customer portals, bioinformatics tools, or knowledge management solutions.
  • Familiarity with claims development, scientific content governance, legal review, terms and conditions, responsible AI considerations, or commercial enablement.
  • Experience working in a global organization with regional marketing and commercial teams.

Key Success Measures:

  • Successful development and execution of the marketing plan for platform launch and early adoption.
  • Growth in registered users, active users, repeat usage, and platform engagement.
  • Clear, differentiated messaging that communicates the platform’s value to academic and translational lab scientists.
  • Effective collaboration across marketing, product, IT, legal, commercial, business unit, and agency partners.
  • Actionable insights from platform data and customer behavior that inform future growth marketing, demand generation, and customer engagement opportunities.

Leadership Profile:

The ideal candidate is a scientifically fluent marketer, cross-functional connector, and customer-centered storyteller who can operate comfortably in a pre-launch environment.

This person should be energized by building something new: a marketing workstream for an AI-enabled scientific platform that helps researchers access trusted knowledge, design better experiments, and engage more deeply with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Other:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
