The Water Division of AECOM has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer - Water/Wastewater Treatment with extensive experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater treatment plants. The emphasis for this position is on process design, multidisciplinary design coordination, technical leadership, and successful delivery of treatment plant design solutions.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the technical delivery of water and/or wastewater treatment assignments including master plans, studies, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, tendering, approvals, contract administration, site inspection, and warranty services.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, structural, architectural, building mechanical, process mechanical, instrumentation & controls, electrical, and other disciplines to deliver integrated treatment solutions.
  • Prepare and review technical analyses, engineering reports, and conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs.
  • Coordinate technical resources and design teams to support efficient execution of engineering assignments.
  • Guide technical delivery to meet established budgets, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and proactive resolution of technical challenges.
  • Provide leadership throughout design development, design coordination, construction administration, and technical oversight to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Support business development initiatives, including preparing and contributing to technical proposals and presentations.
  • Foster long-term client relationships from initial engagement through completion of engineering services.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment focused on technical excellence, client service, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with AECOM, regulatory, and client quality requirements and engineering standards.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Process, Environmental, Biosystems, Civil, or related discipline).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in water and/or wastewater engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in the design of water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical design activities.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba (or eligible to obtain registration within six months).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant office and field experience.
  • Established relationships with municipal clients throughout Western Canada.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Proven experience leading the successful delivery of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
