Position Information
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure -track faculty position as Assistant Professor - Biomedical Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of the foundational biomedical sciences curriculum in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program and demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service consistent with the mission of the University and the School.
Salary Information
Salary range: $125,000 - $155,000 annually, commensurate with academic rank and experience.

Essential Responsibilities:
Teach Veterinary foundational biomedical sciences courses in the DVM
curriculum.
Develop and deliver lectures, laboratories, and active-learning experiences
using evidence-based instructional strategies.
Contribute to integrated curriculum design and assessment.
Develop and implement formative and summative assessments aligned
with competency-based veterinary education.
Advise and mentor veterinary students.
Establish and maintain an independent or collaborative research program in
veterinary or comparative biomedical sciences.
Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals.
Pursue external funding appropriate to career stage.
Engage DVM students in research and scholarly activities where
appropriate.
Participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
Engage in professional service activities.
Support student recruitment, retention, and outreach initiatives.
Contribute to accreditation documentation and continuous quality
improvement efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent professional degree.
Demonstrated expertise in related biomedical sciences.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness or strong potential for excellence in
teaching.
Demonstrated research productivity appropriate to career stage.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferences: (Qualifications)
Postdoctoral training in a relevant discipline.
Experience teaching veterinary or other professional students.
Record of peer-reviewed publications and potential to secure external
