Description

Apple's Biophotonics group is seeking a scientist to collaborate with an R&D team developing a new generation of bio-sensing technologies. Within Biophotonics, you will be part of team with expertise in tissue modeling and validation, multivariate analysis, and simulation infrastructure development. The role's primary function is to advance the accuracy and physiological realism of the team's skin optical models and to integrate them into shared simulation infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BSEE required.
  • Experience modeling light-tissue interactions, ideally in skin.
  • Proficiency in Python.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (M.S or Ph.D.) in physics, applied physics, biomedical optics or engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo ray tracing.
  • Experience with biomedical optics simulations, including translating human skin anatomy and physiology into optical models and validating against experimental data.
  • Experience applying multivariate analysis methods such as principal component analysis to interpret optical data.
  • Experience with scientific computing, including maintaining and extending simulation pipelines, adding new features, and writing tests.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.
