Position Summary
A post-doctoral position is available in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering Department, based at UNC Chapel Hill. This research position will lead research in targeted therapeutics applications with biomedical ultrasonics. Potential projects include acoustically enhanced immunotherapy, targeted therapeutic delivery to the brain, and ultrasound targeted cancer therapies. Candidates will lead projects, conduct research, mentor junior team members, and write manuscripts, present at conferences, and contribute to grant proposals.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. or other relevant doctoral degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be creative, highly motivated and able to work independently, with demonstrated experience in writing and executing grants. The candidate must have the interest in and ability to collaborate with other researchers. The ability to work as part of a team, to manage multiple projects, and to learn new skills quickly are all important to being successful in this position
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Expertise in Verasonics programming would be a bonus, but is not required
