Job description

We're looking for a Process Engineer to join our team! Help engineer the future of manufacturing-where lean thinking meets robotics, automation, and hands-on problem solving.

Position Summary

The Process Engineer will be a pivotal member of our Engineering team, responsible for advancing production processes with a focus on lean manufacturing, robotic automation, and modern engineering practices. This role will drive efforts to optimize the manufacturing of desiccant dryer production lines and the vertically integrated membrane production, ensuring we maintain our reputation for high-quality while implementing new scalable and innovative manufacturing techniques.  Parts of the manufacturing processes are automized, while others are fully manual. The Process Engineer will work with polymer extrusion, steel assembly, robotics, exhaust systems, CNC machines, quality assurance, castings, and coating, while seeking to optimize production throughput and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage improvements for production equipment and the manufacturing processes
  • Lead the integration of lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, optimize workflows, and improve production efficiency.
  • Execute strategies to streamline operations and enhance productivity across all key areas, particularly improving efficiency, quality, and safety at BEKO.
  • Retrieve, analyze, and report production data to effectively communicate improvements in a measurable and meaningful way.
  • Conduct tests and monitor the process performance throughout production; Develop the design of experiments to analyze performance changes based on parameter variations which are backed by statistically relevant datasets created from the production data.
  • Execute the implementation and maintenance of automation systems, ensuring alignment with production goals and safety standards.
  • Explore and apply advanced manufacturing technologies, including Industry 4.0 solutions such as IoT and smart sensors. Utilize new technologies to monitor, analyze, and enhance process performance and predict maintenance needs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of process changes, improvements, and technical specifications to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on process performance, improvement initiatives, and project status to stakeholders.
  • Develop customized production equipment based on new products launched by R&D. Collaborates with a 3rd party contractor as needed, but will also design manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to support the development and scaling of new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Participate in product development and facilitate the smooth transition to production.
  • Develop and maintain FMEA documentation for process and support FMEA for design.
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues and lead corrective actions to resolve any deviations from quality benchmarks as related to manufacturing equipment or processes.
  • Provide training and support for manufacturing personnel on new processes and technologies. Ensure that all team members are proficient in operating and maintaining new equipment and systems.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited university or College required
  • 5+ years of experience successfully working in a production environment in a similar position
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, with a strong track record in designing and implementing automation systems and enhancing production efficiency and safety.
