Job Overview
Provide high-quality, customer-focused troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and technical support services at customer facilities. This role is responsible for servicing complex mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems while following manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Field Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction, equipment reliability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting, repair, and technical support to customers within the assigned service territory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service activities using established procedures, appropriate tools, test equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Support sales initiatives by assisting with product demonstrations, in-services, customer meetings, and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to customer retention efforts by delivering exceptional service and supporting maintenance contract renewals.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and field training resource for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintain technical proficiency through ongoing training and effective use of product information, technical documentation, and service resources.
  • Accurately complete and submit service reports, documentation, and other required records within established deadlines.
  • Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) established for the position, service region, or division.
  • Manage service inventory and business expenses in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Deliver services consistent with published warranty policies, maintenance agreements, and service contract obligations.
  • Successfully complete all required training, certifications, and compliance programs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline such as Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent military training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a field service, technical maintenance, repair, or related technical support role strongly preferred.
  • Experience within the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or related technical equipment industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret schematics, system diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules as required to support customer needs and site access requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to meet customer vendor credentialing and compliance requirements.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces and perform activities including reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, climbing, standing, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Pay rate:  $37 - $46 / hour
