Location: Tulsa Campus (onsite)

This position is expected to begin in Fall 2026 and will offer part-time hours during the academic year. Depending on business needs and individual performance, there may be opportunities to continue through subsequent spring semesters and/or transition to a full-time summer role, allowing the successful candidate to gain ongoing experience while completing their education. Additionally, this internship is intended to serve as a talent pipeline for future full-time opportunities within the organization, providing high-performing interns with potential consideration for permanent roles upon graduation.

A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Manufacturing Intern position in the NA Ops Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be an active participant in contributing to the goals of the NA Operations Oklahoma Operations team. You will learn a tremendous amount in this role and will be given exposure to other parts of the business, including subject matter experts from a wide variety of divisions and professions. This role is ideal for a self-motivated and driven engineering/business student who has a desire to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment where your work will make a difference on a daily basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, HR, operations, quality and safety on projects and daily work functions.

  • Assist in identifying and implementing solutions to improve business processes.

  • Apply lean/manufacturing principles in order to achieve business objectives.

  • Assist with the establishment of production standards.

  • Work with an operations team consisting of production staff, production support, quality assurance and operations.

  • Assist in identifying capacity constraints, quality issues, design improvements, as well as additional processes.

  • Participate in hands-on learning experiences through project work, leadership development, job shadowing and interaction with senior leadership.

  • Present learning and recommendations to various business leaders in both individual and group project formats.

  • Other duties as required/assigned.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Enrolled in an accredited university and actively pursuing a degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering

  • Junior or senior standing with an anticipated graduation in the next 18 months

  • CAD skills including design applications and an ability to convert drawings to 3D models

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications

  • Ability to convert drawings to 3D models

  • Demonstrated strong communication interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Demonstrated problem-solving/critical thinking skills

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
