RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful student must be able to work well with our team to complete the following items:

Safely work with the Site Leadership Team and the Site Maintenance Team to:

  • Build a scope of work to implement condition based monitoring systems to provide proactive responses to equipment anomalies
  • Improve rotating equipment reliability and performance
  • Implement audit findings and lead small projects to support safety, quality and process improvements in an operating Hydrogen Peroxide Plant
  • Investigate utility inefficiencies, with focus on, site steam and electricity consumption and working with the Operations team to develop and execute actions to effectively resolve any issues.
  • Working with the Maintenance team to develop, innovative solutions to improve our site Sustainability with the goal to be Climate Neutral by 2040.
  • Key driver to improving Reliability and OEE initiatives
  • Other tasks designed to support the plant including sizing equipment, writing, organizing Process Safety Information such as Pipe and Valve Codes and other general support to plant operations.
  • Learn or apply current knowledge of SAP to improve Plant Maintenance execution including spare parts development and maintenance plan details
  • Update and create technical drawings using Brics CAD


REQUIREMENTS

  • Intermediate to Senior Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Student
  • Ability to work Safely, this is an Operating Chemical Plant
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a desire to learn
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills will be an asset.

Transportation and Housing: Limited public transit is available, having access to a car is helpful. Look at www.riverroute.ca to understand the transit offering.

Students are responsible for finding their own housing. Site staff will give contacts if requested.

Compensation and Benefits: The hourly rate for this role depends on the work term of the successful student. The salary range at Maitland site is $23 to $36 per hour depending on the experience of the student.
