Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA as a Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 


Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience supporting design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and growth of a team.  


Requirements

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of projects from inception through completion
  • Provide direction and manage work quality of a team of engineering designers, interns, and technicians
  • Assist in preparing and managing proposals, contracts, invoicing, work in process and account receivables
  • Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies
  • Prepare, maintain, coordinate project schedules of multiple concurrent projects with clients and design team
  • Communicate directly with clients and public governing agencies
  • Developing and tracking project milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery
  • Recruit, manage, develop, lead, inspire and coach design team
  • Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations
  • Produce high-quality work and implement and maintain QA/QC procedures
  • Be active in business development
  • Resolve design conflicts and field construction issues
  • Able to understand proposals and contract scope of services
  • Able to identify scope creep, write and capture additional services in a timely manner
  • Overseeing the technical and financial aspects of various projects
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and support services
  • Make decisions independently in regard to various issues and methods
  • Able to accept and give performance feedback

  • Good reputation amongst peers, clients, and   agencies
  • Able to follow general directions and   guidelines for the firm's policies, practices, and procedures


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana (or capable of obtaining)
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer
  • Management experience in AR, Invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
