The appointee will join a cohesive group of tenure-track (25) and teaching-track (14) faculty working collaboratively in the teaching, research, and service missions of Emory University. Department of Biology faculty are committed to creating a respectful community of educators and scholars and seek colleagues who are eager to nurture and support growth of students, staff, and faculty.
In addition to teaching, commonly four courses per year, successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the academic life and governance of the Department, College of Arts and Sciences, and the University. Successful applicants will be integrated into a vibrant, supportive intellectual community in the Biology Department that values course-based research experiences, reflective teaching, and faculty growth in pedagogy and scholarship (https://biology.emory.edu/about/abc/index.html#row5).

In unusual and exceptional circumstances, those with a terminal degree in other STEM related fields will be considered. We particularly welcome applicants qualified to teach lecture-based courses in biochemistry or developmental biology and/or courses with labs in human anatomy & physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, and microbiology.
