Hiring: Bioinformatics Scientist (San Francisco)
Vivo HealthStaff is currently recruiting on behalf of an innovative, dynamic client in South San Francisco! We are looking for a highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist who wants to be a builder-someone ready to create impactful, scalable bioinformatics products used by thousands, rather than just performing routine tasks in a highly structured R&D environment.

Compensation & Logistics
  • Salary: $170,000 - $190,000 / year
  • Location: South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite/week required)
  • Relocation: Relocation package available!

What We're Looking For
  • Education: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience developing production bioinformatics pipelines, with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience (Candidates with only academic experience will not be considered).
  • Product Focus: Proven experience contributing to actual bioinformatics products, going beyond just building pipelines.
  • Specialized Expertise: Strong background in one or more of the following (Microbial Genomics is highly preferred):
    • Microbial genomics (assembly/metagenomics)
    • Variant calling / large-scale genomics
    • Bulk/single-cell RNA-seq
