Job description

Job Summary
A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available at the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology. The study focus for this position will be twofold: 1) Discover disease mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets in solid tumors through multi-omics data analysis of large pan-cancer datasets. The postdoctoral fellow will perform bioinformatic data analysis on proteogenomic data generated across high-throughput profiling platforms from multiple cancer types. 2) Establish a comprehensive clinico-genomic database, web resource, and information hub for rare pediatric and adult cancers, and develop foundational methods and resources for the integration of single-cell and clinical transcriptomes.
Responsibilities*
  • Process raw data from genomics, proteomics, and epigenomics data generated across various cancer types
  • Perform in-depth analyses across different omics platforms to identify phenotype-genotype associations
  • Develop novel analytical pipelines, tools, and methods to study cancer multi-omics data
  • Develop foundational methods and resources for the integration of single-cell and clinical transcriptomes
  • Establish comprehensive clinico-genomic database, webresource and information hub for rare pediatric and adult cancers.
  • Develop manuscripts describing the results for publication in high-impact journals

The successful candidate must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment will work as part of a team to perform various data analyses under the supervision of the Principal Investigators and/or senior research staff. The position requires active participation in research projects within a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
Required Qualifications*
  • The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree (MD and/or PhD) with relevant experience in bioinformatics and cancer biology.
  • Demonstrated publication track record
  • Strong communication, analytical, and collaborative skills
