Your Role:
Are you passionate about translating complex genomic data into life-changing RNA therapeutics? Our Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Group (DDTech) at EMD Serono in Billerica, MA, is expanding, and we are looking for a Senior Scientist in Oligo Bioinformatics to lead the computational design and optimization of our next-generation siRNA and ASO pipelines.
In this role, you will sit at the crucial intersection of computational biology, chemistry, and drug discovery-directly shaping therapeutic programs from target identification through lead optimization. If you thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where your algorithms directly inform lab experiments, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Bioinformatics platforms to design, evaluate and optimize siRNA and ASO sequences for targeted gene silencing
  • Analyze gene expression data to identify suitable targets for siRNA/ASO development
  • Work closely with chemists and biologists to integrate bioinformatics approaches into experimental workflow
  • Perform transcriptome wide off-target prediction and annotation
  • Develop pipelines that determine mapping coordinates and homology of oligonucleotides to genomes and transcriptomes
  • Analyze High through put screening datasets and identify SAR

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other Science or Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of dedicated experience within the Oligonucleotide field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Bioinformatics tools and software (e.g. BLAST, Ensemb. RNA fold, siRNA design tools)
  • Experience with common human genetics resources and techniques
  • Experience with analyzing large genomic and transcriptomic datasets including RNA seq, Single cell RNA seq, splice isoforms and variant database
  • Highly collaborative and strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple experiments or project priorities in a fast-paced research environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong scientific curiosity and innovation mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

Pay Range for this position: $112,800 - $169,200
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
