What will your job look like?

The Vehicle Preparation Technician is responsible for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exteriors, as well as ensuring the vehicles are serviced daily. The Vehicle Preparation Technician will keep their work areas maintained according to OSHA and EPA regulations, free of leaks and spills, and organized (to include the supply closet, and shop storage areas).

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm

What you'll do:

  • Review levels of fluids in each vehicle, Re-fuel to proper level as needed

  • Inspect vehicle tires, reviewing any damage, low air pressure, and any missing or damaged lug nuts

  • Clean, vacuum and disinfect the entire interior of all vehicles daily

  • The passenger and driver seats shall be inspected and cleaned of spills and stains

  • Perform 100% detail of all interior surfaces on every vehicle as they are available

  • Perform cleaning and shampoo of all cloth seats

  • Clean up all biohazard and blood borne pathogen accidents

  • Immediately report any damage found

  • Report fluid levels lower than 1 quart of coolant, engine oil or transmission fluid

  • Ensure a safe work environment, personal protection equipment (PPE) and hazardous materials protocols are followed

  • Ensure all vehicle ignitions are turned off while being cleaned

  • Inspect all seat belts and stanchions for sign of damage

  • Update cleaning and mileage logs after each task for each vehicle

  • Assist by taking or picking up units from Vendors or special events

  • Perform additional duties as required

What you'll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Valid Arizona Driver's license

  • Minimum of 5 years driving history

  • No pending charges

  • No convicted felony charges in past 7 years

  • No DUI or DWI convictions

  • Must pass criminal background check & motor vehicle record investigation

  • Must pass a DOT physical if over the age of 65 including a pre-employment drug screening

  • Valid Authorization to work in the United States

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in mechanically oriented situations

  • Working knowledge of washing equipment and general cleaning utensils such as brushes, mops, vacuums, and brooms

  • Detail cleaning skills

  • Ability to relate to a diversity of requests

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

  • Must be able to read and write in English

  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools

  • Must be able to communicate with others and comprehend instructions

  • Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor

  • Working knowledge of required safety equipment is required

  • Must complete biohazard training, provided by MTM, within 30 days

  • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details.

  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.

  • Willing to adhere to company policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

  • Regular attendance is required.
