Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Location: Gainesville, VA & Culpeper, VA
Facility Type: Mobile Unit attached to Outpatient Cancer Center / Medical Center
Start Date: 11/02/2026
Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3x10 hour shifts | Monday - Friday (7:30/8:00 AM - 5:30/6:00 PM) | No weekends, evenings, or holidays
Certification Needed: NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, VA State License, CPR Certification
Pay: $2,280 / week (Gross, based on 30 hours)
Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Screening & Preparation: Screen patients before exams using two patient identifiers, explain PET/CT procedures, and properly position patients for optimal diagnostic imaging.
  • PET/CT Imaging: Perform routine and advanced PET/CT procedures with minimal supervision while providing ongoing patient support and communication.
  • Parameter & Dose Adjustment: Adjust scan parameters appropriately, utilizing dose reduction (ALARA) techniques.
  • Radiation Safety & Team Rotation: Work alongside a co-technologist to manage radiation exposure by alternating daily duties (e.g., scanning vs. IV injections/contrast administration).
  • Equipment & EHR Workflow: Operate Siemens Biograph Trillion digital mobile PET/CT equipment and chart using the EIS EHR system.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: ARRT (CT) certification or NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
  • Technical Experience: Direct experience operating Siemens software platforms (Siemens Biograph Trillion experience highly preferred).
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) fluency is a plus.
