Job description

CDL-A Gravel Train Driver โ€“ Flint, MI

$25.00/hour | $1,000 Sign-On Bonus | Local Truck Parking

DHT Group is hiring an experienced Gravel Train Driver for a specialized operation based in the Flint, Michigan area. This position supports area wastewater treatment facilities, transporting biosolids from treatment plants to area landfills. The selected driver will be assigned to this operation and will be able to park the truck locally in the Flint area.

Required Experience

Gravel train operating experience is REQUIRED.

Because of the nature of this operation, we are looking for an experienced driver who is comfortable maneuvering and operating gravel train equipment in demanding loading and unloading environments. Landfill experience is highly preferred.

Essential Duties
  • Safely operate gravel train equipment in accordance with company, state and federal requirements
  • Transport biosolids from wastewater treatment facilities to area landfills
  • Inspect truck and trailers to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in proper working order
  • Verify delivery instructions, routes and load documentation
  • Inspect and secure loads as required
  • Maintain required driver logs and vehicle documentation
  • Safely maneuver equipment into loading and unloading positions
  • Operate through weigh stations and comply with applicable weight regulations
  • Couple and uncouple trailers and properly connect air and electrical lines
  • Inspect trailers following unloading
  • Clean trailers as necessary
  • Report equipment defects, accidents, violations or damage according to company procedures
  • Complete delivery documentation accurately
