Job description

Overview

Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer who will perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on our Clinical Diagnostic instruments for customers within hospitals and laboratories based out of the West Palm Beach, FL area. As a Field Service Engineer, you may be asked to travel on short notice to help other team members within the region. 

Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, as our Field Service Engineer, you will play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Bio-Rad customers. In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in your assigned territory as part of a national service team. No day or week will look the same, and your work will have a direct impact on Bio-Rad's success! 

The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you'll be constantly "on the go". It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers.

  • Performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's instruments, ensuring the quality performance of our instruments for customers who are working to advance the future of healthcare. 
  • Supporting and maintaining the Bio-Rad instruments on which our customers rely on to make scientific breakthroughs helping to advance healthcare research and treatments. 
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships allows you to anticipate and advocate for our customers' needs. 
  • By adhering to FDA and GMP regulations and requirements with detailed record keeping and service documentation helps protect Bio-Rad's integrity and reputation in the industry.

What You Bring:

  • Education/Work Experience: At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience). 
  • Ability to read, understand and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions. 
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills. 
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking. 
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel. 

Preferred skills to support your success: 

  • Hands on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Location: This position covers the Fort Lauderdale, FL/Palm Beach area. The individual must live within a geography that allows them to visit customers on-site on a daily basis.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $64,900 to $89,200 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
