Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include: Meet with student-athlete(s) either virtually or in person for tutor sessions; assist student-athlete by explaining course content and offering study strategies and tips for appropriate tutorial support, complete a meeting report for each session within 24 hours of the session, complete a bi-monthly timesheet and tutor hour record report for each pay period. The amount of tutoring time per week is approx. 1-2 hours per assigned student-athlete, but is determined by the needs of the student-athlete (could be more or less).

Qualifications:

Applicants must have:
Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
B+ or higher in courses to be tutored
A letter of reference from a professor or former employer is required.
Must be knowledgeable, confident of ability to help, and have an understanding of the course content.
Must have excellent communication skills and a patient, caring attitude.
Ability to provide study assistance and assess needs and capabilities.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends.
Must have respect for and be able to work with student-athletes from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
Must comply with NCAA, University Honor Code, and FERPA guidelines.

1. Copy of Unofficial Transcript
2. List, including the professor's name, of courses you are willing and confident in your ability to tutor. A grade of B+ or higher is required (Other Document #1).
3. Reference letter from a professor or former employer.

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
