What do we need?

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Specialist is an early-career role designed for recent college graduates who want hands-on experience applying AI in a high impact, professional services setting. This front-line role involves helping attorneys, agents, and staff get practical value from our approved AI tools, while also assisting with test, configuration, documentation, and development of internal AI applications. This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys solving problems, teaching others, and experimenting with AI workflows. The AI Solutions Specialist should be willing to work at least 3 days in the office from our D.C. office.

This role is as much about people as it is about technology. We’re looking for someone with strong aptitude and curiosity who enjoys being handson, listening to user needs, troubleshooting issues, and talking through how AI can optimize legal work. This role is for you if enjoy translating emerging technology into practical workflows and building relationships along the way.

How will you make an impact?

End User AI Support & Enablement

  • Helping attorneys and staff use firmapproved AI tools effectively, including Microsoft Copilot, Thomson Reuters CoCounsel, and internally developed applications.
  • Troubleshooting common issues such as access, errors, workflow challenges, and “what’s the best way to do this?” questions, and escalating appropriately when needed.
  • Coaching users on prompt quality and workflow structuring, including transforming vague requests into structured prompts and validating results for reliability.
  • Developing strategies for using AI to solve daytoday legal workflows.

AI Tooling & Workflow Improvement

  • Assisting with configuration, testing, and iterative improvement of internal tools.
  • Gathering user feedback and translating that feedback into actionable improvements.
  • Creating specificpurpose AI agents.
  • Supporting customization, configuration, and light development of internal AI tools using Python, JavaScript, Java, APIs, prompt pipelines, or lowcode solutions.
  • Using AIassisted code development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to create custom applications.

Training & Knowledge Materials

  • Creating “howto” guides, short demos, and internal FAQs to help teams use tools confidently and responsibly.
  • Supporting internal training sessions from beginner to advanced levels, including prompt engineering and practical usecase workshops.

Responsible AI & Firm Standards

  • Operating within the firm’s governance framework, emphasizing approved tools, confidentiality, and ethical AI adoption.

What is training like?

We are hiring four AI Solutions Specialists who will together go through a training program that includes presentations from our own industry experts, external AI professionals, and hands-on work. The training is a combination of learning about the firm, intellectual property law, our various practices, and the AI tools that we use. The internal training will be led by senior leaders who are at the cutting-edge of AI usage in the legal industry.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Bio-Informatics, or a similar technical field (or equivalent practical experience) required.
  • Some internship or coursework experience in an AI-focused role preferred.
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts (LLMs, prompting, context management, evaluation/verification, limitations) required.
  • Basic programming/scripting ability (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, or JavaScript) and familiarity with AI-Assisted Code Development (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Github CoPilot, etc.) required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service orientation for engagement with attorneys and staff.
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and independent with the ability to work on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 CoPilot environments or workflow automation preferred
  • Exposure to API development and use, MCP protocol, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, prompt chaining, or lowcode tools preferred
  • Interest in legal tech, IP, or regulated/professional environments
  • Curious about generative AI and motivated to learn quickly
  • Comfortable explaining technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
  • Organized, responsive, and enjoys being “the person who helps make things work”
  • Interest in how AI changes professional services (especially law, IP, and knowledge work)

The good faith base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
