Job description

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday START TIME VARIES, Typically 8:40PM - 6:30AM
*Shift Premium - 5pm - 10pm +$1/hr., 10pm - 5am +$2/hr.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for handling all Panela and Alpma operations. Ensuring forms are clean, filled appropriately and accurate documentation. Orchestrating the flow of Alpma machines, brine system and stagging and following the production schedule. This position requires leadership skills with strict adherence to GMP, sanitation, safety, timekeeping and personal conduct rules.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Stage and fill forms in Alpma area
  • Follow SOP/SSOP's for designated areas
  • Understand and utilize cleaning practices such as COP tanks and portable foamers
  • Sanitize equipment, tools, presses and forms during production hours
  • Follow appropriate chemical usages for designated cleaning equipment
  • Document vats to forms, record keeping of times such as brine time
  • Review Master Sanitation Schedules and document
  • Understand PLC and equipment handling
  • Handle panela forms such as flipping and dumping into brine system
  • Monitor brine system such as salt, pH and temperature
  • Communicate safety and or quality concerns to management and appropriate staff
  • Strict adherence to GMPs
  • Strict adherence to Safety/PPE protocols and procedures; reporting unsafe conditions to plant management
  • Accurate recordkeeping and specific paperwork
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong listening skills and ask questions to understand instructions for work-related activities
  • Takes initiative to complete tasks along with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Works as a team with positive attitude and behaviors
  • Verbal and written communication skills; including ability to read, understand and follow written procedures (SOPs)
  • Flexibility in job roles, assisting team mates along with covering breaks when needed to meet business needs
  • Meet physical demands of role, Honest and high level of Integrity, high degree of personal hygiene per GMPs, dependable attendance to meet business demands
  • 18+ years old

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to push, pull and lift at minimum 50lbs.
  • On your feet for minimum 11hrs
  • Working in temperature fluctuations; hot to cold environments
  • Fast-paced and organized environment
  • Must be able to reach over your head.
