About the Role: 
Nystrom Publishing Co is looking for an experienced and driven Bindery Manager to lead our finishing operations in Maple Grove, MN. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a critical production department and make a real impact in a dynamic publishing environment. Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee all bindery operations including cutting, folding, stitching, gluing, and finishing processes
  • Manage, train, and schedule bindery staff to ensure efficient workflow and productivity
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure quality control standards are met throughout all finishing and bindery stages
  • Collaborate with prepress, press, and production teams to meet project deadlines
  • Track inventory of bindery supplies and materials, placing orders as needed
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant work environment

Requirements:
 
  • 3+ years of experience in bindery operations, print finishing, or a related production role
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in a print or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of bindery equipment such as cutters, folders, saddle stitchers, and perfect binders
  • Strong understanding of print production workflows and finishing techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to motivate and direct a team
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous process improvement
